Family Welfare Division (FWD) of Department of Health Services has shared a notice to all provinces of Nepal on "revision of fIPV vaccination schedule" dated 2079/07/23 (November 10th 2022).
The schedule is changed based on the new suggestion made by vaccination advisor of World Health Organization (WHO) to Ministry of Populatuon and Health on 15 september 2022 (2079/05/30).
Previously, fIPV vaccination was scheduled for 2 times (6th and 14 week) for child below one year and for those under-5 children who were missed for vaccination was scheduled for 2 times at the interval of 8 weeks. The previous vaccination schedule is modified to : two times (14th week and 9 months) for children below one year and two times at the interval of 4 months (16 weeks) for under-5 children who were missed for vaccination.
- Previously fIPV vaccine was given 2 times at 6th and 14th week which is revised to 14th week and 9 months.
- Previoulsy it was used to be given Intradermally right hand which is now revised and suggested to give at left hand on 14th week and 9 months intradermally.
- If BCG or other vaccines are to be given at the same time with fIPV, fIPV should be given at left hand and other are given in the right hand.
